Still reading.............................

.....................but will take time tomorrow to pick the winner of the guessing game.

Meanwhile I'm gathering more good reads shared by friends, including the two books left in my mailbox today.  Sara in Long Beach, California who writes one of my favorite blogs,

.......sent two I know I will enjoy, First Darling of the Morning by Thrity Umrigar, and Out of India by Ruth Prawer Jhabvala.
Thanks so much Sara.

  2. Hi dear! I should be taking some time to read as well but instead I'm keeping myself busy with some major cleaning around this dusty little home. Miss you! Hope you are doing great! Love, Vanessa

  3. Out of India is a keeper - and I have another one of hers that I must go and find. The other book isn't known to me but it's always great to get a recommendation.

  4. I am reading a true story about a couple buying a home in Umbria, called The Lady In The Palazzo by Marlena de Blasi.

The cover discription: From village feasts and rustic tavernas to ancient piazzas and moonlit balconies, the smells and tastes and sounds and soul of Umbria come alive in bestselling author Marlena de Blasi's evocative memoir. By turns romantic and sensual, joyous and celebratory, touching and humorous, de Blasi's account of moving with her husband, Fernando, to Orvieto, the largest city in Italy's Umbria, will appeal to anyone who delights in travel and shares the fantasy of beginning a new life in a very different place.

Hope it cools off for you. I am lucky that I have my air conditioned space to work in, but I do my sanding in the garage...and that can be hot!

  6. Oh how I would love to sit down and read a good book! By the time nightfall hits, and I'm snuggled in bed to read, I fall asleep! I hope you enjoy your books sent to you.
    Take Care,
